Walking, strolling, cycling
​​​​​​​​​Normandy is a horse-lover's paradise! ​It is home to two of France's national studs - including the 400-year-old Haras du Pin - as well as hundreds of smaller stud farms.
​​​​​​​​​​​Normandy's lush green countryside laced with rivers and lakes makes for stunning walking and cycling routes!
    There are various mapped routes in the area with varying lengths and difficulties. Many of them incorporate historic or architectural themes, making it a walkers' paradise. 
     The nearby Voie Verte (Green Route) is part of the 450km route from Paris to Mont Saint Michel, but you don't have to walk the full route!!
​  You can also stop by one of the rivers for a spot of fishing.
    The region is famous for two breeds of heavy horses: the ​Norman Cob and the Percheron who often star in the public displays and tours at the national studs and other specialist working farms. ​​

   Ten-pin bowling and indoor aquatic centres offer all-year entertainment. Aqua complexes include various sizes of pools from splashes and slides to seriously big pools! 
   Outdoors you can choose to go paint-balling or go-karting, play golf, football or tennis, visit parks and zoos.
Horse racing is a popular pastime
in Normandy from one-off annual fixtures on fields to regular
meetings on purpose-built tracks.
Enjoying energetic actvities
Energetic and adventurous holiday-makers have a wealth of activities on offer!
    Rock climbing is a popular pastime in Normandy with fantastic outcrops to scale. 
    If messing around on the water is for you, then there's sailing on the lakes and canoing and kayaking along Normandy's rivers.
    On the coast you can go windsurfing or sand-yachting.
    With so much of Normandy being national parks, there are adventure parks where you can navigate through the treetops on acrobranche courses, and miles of forest where you can track deer or wild boar.
​​​There are many equestrian centres in the area offering a range of riding opportunities for visitors from formal lessons to trail rides through the beautiful Normandy countryside. ​
​​​Show jumping competitions are often held at venues around Normandy, many of them showcasing the talents of the locally-bred Selle Français.
